Prime Minister Ismail Sabri arrives in Ankara for the second part of his official visit

ANKARA, July 6 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob visited the Turkish capital today to begin the second part of his official visit to Turkey.

The special plane carrying Ismail Sabri and his delegation from Istanbul landed at Ankara Esenboga International Airport at 11:10 a.m. (4:10 p.m. Malaysian time).

He was received by the Minister of National Defense, Hulusi Akar, before inspecting a guard of honour.

Also present were Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah; the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba; Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Duties) Datuk Abdul Latiff Ahmad and Deputy Governor of Ankara, Berkay Govcinar.

The Prime Minister arrived in Turkey yesterday where he visited Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, owned by Airport Malaysia, and met with nine companies and private companies linked to the Turkish government.

Ismail Sabri also witnessed MoU exchanges between Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) and two Turkish universities, Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) and Karabuk University (UNIKA), as well as a document of agreement between Boustead Holdings Berhad and Great East Capital Bigli. Today, the Prime Minister will visit the country’s two main players in the fields of defense and aerospace – MKE Corporation and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) respectively.

Tomorrow, Ismail Sabri is due to have a four-eye meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the presidential complex in Ankara, followed by a Malaysia-Turkey delegation meeting. — Bernama
