The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has provided many rural development supports from vegetable sowing to various types of grain seeds to more than 2021 thousand out of 33 farmers to encourage and increase domestic production in the capital and to revive the city’s economy. The number of women farmers benefiting from these aids has started to increase in Ankara.
While the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality maintains its “woman-friendly” practices, it also contributes economically to local female farmers, ensuring that they do not break away from production.
In 2021, the Directorate of Rural Services provided vegetable seedlings, lentil seed, chickpea seed, fodder seed, wheat germ and barley seed to more than 33,000 farmers, including women .
SUPPORT WILL CONTINUE IN 2022
Last year, 5 thousand 433 farmers received support for vegetable seedlings, 675 for lentil seed support, 5 thousand 945 for chickpea seed support, 3 thousand 58 for fodder plant seed support, 11 thousand 586 from wheat seed support and 6 from barley seed support.
The Department of Rural Services, which will continue to support domestic producers in 2022, has begun receiving applications for corn silage support for female producers engaged in livestock production.
WOMEN FARMERS IN ELMADAĞ AND POLATLI ARE SATISFIED WITH THE SUPPORT
As the number of female farmers benefiting from agricultural supports from the Metropolitan Municipality in the capital is increasing day by day, female farmers living in Elmadağ and Polatlı districts pointed out that vegetable seedlings and seed supports contribute greatly to their economy and expressed themselves as follows:
Nobility of Love: “We have saved a lot. We received service that we had never received before. We haven’t seen them for 20-25 years. God bless our president. Thank goodness we bought chickpeas and barley. We bought crops and we saved a lot of them. This year, the silage will be donated, and we will give it to our animals. We have seen what we have not seen. »
Nobility of wish: “We bought chickpea and barley seeds. Thanks, that was very helpful. We are happy. This is how the peasant grows up. Such support did not exist before. We are very happy with our president. We have seen this help with Mansur Yavaş, which did not exist before. We also benefited from the support of tomato and pepper plants. If the support had been like that until now, the peasants would have developed and not migrated.
Sevda Young: “These are very good supports for the farmer. If these aids were available before, the farmer would not be in this situation today. We cannot achieve efficiency due to debts and costs. Thanks to these supports, which are wheat, barley, chickpeas and aid for sowing, agriculture is also developing. We would like to thank Mansur Yavaş. This provides great support to the farmer.
Nermin Odabasi: “We couldn’t pay our debts. If Mansur Bey had not provided these supports, we would not have been able to replant. Thank you very much and we wish you more. The harvest, barley, chickpea gave a lot, we liked it very much. We have saved a lot. We spent the money that we would give to seeds for the education of our children, we spent it on our house. The money we give to barley and wheat is left for our own needs.
Sultan Yasar: “Thank you very much for the support. Without Mansur Bey, most farmers would not have been able to plant. He gave these seeds, we planted them or our fields would be empty. It was very effective. We planted these fields with the seeds he donated through a grant. I have been a farmer with my wife for 30 years. We have never seen such support before. We have seen their support since the arrival of Mansur Bey.
