The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which continues its eco-friendly works in the capital without slowing down, has signed a new nature-friendly application, not forgetting migratory birds.

STORK NESTS IN BEYPAZARI BEGIN TO FILL UP

With the onset of the spring season, the Department of Environmental Protection and Control, which wants to create special living spaces in areas on the route of migratory birds migrating from south to north, has transformed unused irons in a nest by giving them a round shape and decorating them with pruned tree branches.

Stork nests installed in Akçakavak district of Beypazarı, under the joint work carried out with the Nature Research Association under the “Farmer-Friendly Birds Farming is Safer Project”, have begun to fill due to the incubation period.

OBJECTIVE: TO ENSURE FOR MIGRANT BIRDS TO LIVE IN A HEALTHY AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT

Ahmet Furkan Ton, a member of the Nature Research Association and an assistant to the Farmer-Friendly Birds Agriculture Safer project, said that they cooperated with the metropolitan municipality to protect the extinction of storks and other species of birds. birds and to ensure that they live in healthy environments.

“As part of the Safer Farming with Farmer-Friendly Birds project, carried out with the support of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, we are building stork nests and nests for different species of birds in different districts of Ankara. Today we take a look at the stork nests we assembled in Akçakavak district in Beypazarı. Two of our storks have claimed their nests. We will also make control observations. The main objective of our project is to increase the population of declining bird species by reviving them.

İrfan Nacak, who lives in Beypazarı Akçakavak district, said the storks have started using the nests and said, “I really liked the stork nests built by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. We wanted this to happen in a few more places. The storks came to 2 of the nests built on high poles, and when we saw them we were all very excited. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the construction of the stork’s nest,” he said.
